What I pictured for my life at 21:
- Living in fancy "penthouse" in "big city"
- Making fun and healthy stir fry dinner on my Calphalon wok while sipping expensive Chardonnay. Slip off Blahnik pumps and enjoy quiet dinner in front of my plate glass window.
- Sundays over eggs benedict that my handsome and attentive husband makes for me in our kitchen while reading newspaper. Stroll around town arm in arm while window shopping.
- Weekends in "casual yet elegent" wardrobe with sweater tied around my neck at cozy "inn". Cuddle around fire place with "appertif".
- Bringing home antiques for my casual, yet elegant home.
What my life is like at 41:
- Smelling jeans found on closet floor to see if clean enough to wear. Decide yes.
- Find pony tail holder in Barbie play house. Maybe Barbie's, may be Diva Daughter's. Put it on.
- Take three kids to Petsmart to buy live crickets for Son's frog, Ralph. Meanwhile, husband "cleans house". TV threateningly warm when return.
- Scrub bathtub with Suave shampoo (cleaner empty) while three kids look on with amusement. Scream threats to clean rooms. Kids laugh and punch each other until crying.
- Take migraine medication while listening to son's Gameboy music in background for an hour.
Which life would I choose if I could start over? Come on, sweaters tied around the neck don't really look good on anyone!
